On Friday, June 11, Jeff and I decided to join the Open Road Biker church men’s retreat in Leakey, TX. I had wanted to go, but due to work requirements, I didn’t know if I could make it or not. Jeff had work issues as well, so instead of leaving with the group Friday morning, we left after work. This would cause us to take much longer to get there as the roads south of Fredericksburg are slow to begin with and become down right hazardous after dark. Continue reading

Big Bend Motorcycle Tour Complete

We made it back home Saturday evening. All in all, we covered 1100+ miles with approximately 800 of that being the journey to get out there and back. We swam in the San Solomon Springs in Balmorhea, we looked through the 107″ Harlan J. Smith telescope for an intimate view of Saturn and a Binary Star system. We hung out with the local cast of characters in Terlingua and witnessed the opening day of the Bandido’s rally in Alpine. We saw some great country, revisited some of our favorite places, and met some interesting people along the way. You meet the nicest people riding a motorcycle! Continue reading
